I have been amassing a small collection of JBL drivers over the years and think it's about time to start putting some of them to use. The drivers on my radar at the moment are a pristine pair of D130's with consecutive serial numbers, just the D130's (I am on the lookout for 075 and 2600's to complete the 030 system) and would like to build ...

A BLH seems like it would allow me to start with a an Eminence woofer and drop in a JBL 2226 at a later date. As I understand 2226's are sometimes available inexpensively when a theater is remodeled. Am I just another dude trying to square the circle or bake a diet cookie? Anyhow the C34 cabinet is the object of my obsessive speculation right now.

But you have an original JBL 001 system in a vintage C34 enclosure. Personally I think you should pass this to someone who will appreciate it and maybe even have a mate to complete a stereo pair, but if maximizing your gain is the goal, do your own research, take your chances on Ebay, and be prepared to pack it properly for shipping to Japan.

2008年6月4日 · I have a pair of JBL Signature C34 cabinets with original parts – 130A, 175DLH & N1200. They are working fine and sound great except at high volume, I believe I am experiencing distortion at about an octave below the crossover point (600hz).

The C34 scoop with it's "rounded" back end looks interesting as well, as a "prettier" alternative to the 4530. But the plans available here are difficult to read and not overly comprehensive. Do-able. Just will require extra planning to figure things out.
