2017年5月16日 · No, the FJCWs aren't all N18, it's the 2008-2012 which are N14, then the last two years are N18. N18 is regarded as being more reliable, less prone to carbon build up and timing chain issues.

The Mini Cooper JCW is a hoot and a half, but it could stand to add a skosh more practicality.

Both types of JCW were available in both the N14 engine form and N18 engine, however as the factory JCWs became more common, the tuning kit became increasingly less common due to the limited modifications in comparison to a factory car.

We installed the N18 engine with it's original N18 engine harness and it's original N18 ECU. Some rewiring was necessary to get rid of brake pressure DTC and so on ,but now only 1 last DTC stored in the ECU.
