General Education jmu.edu/gened. What is the General Education Program? The General Education Program, also called The Human Community, is the foundational Liberal Arts and Sciences curriculum of the University and is required of all undergraduates regardless of major or professional program.

There are many pathways into and through The Human Community. Many students bring college-level credits with them from dual enrollment or test credits. Besides meeting the program’s own requirements, GenEd courses can also serve as pre-requisites for majors or minors, as electives or as degree requirements.

Students will explore a wide variety of 3D modeling applications in order to learn how to be active producers and designers of customizable “things” rather than just passive printers of previously designed objects. Formulate hypotheses, identify relevant variables, and design experiments to test hypotheses.
