2006年4月1日 · The main thing about the KT88 is that a pair of them in push-pull can yield 100 watts of output power. But that's running them at 550V with a load of 4k ohms. The JTM45 would run them at 400V with a load of 8K ohms, which would yield less than 50W. So in that circuit the KT88 might work as a replacement.

2018年9月17日 · Hello guys, wondering if anyone has substituted 2-KT88's for the 4-KT66's on a JTM45/100. The reason I ask is that I am concerned that modern tubes can't handle the 560V on the plates for very long.

2004年4月14日 · The tubes themselves limit the amount of current drawn from the PS. Fortunately, PT in Marshalls are up to the task of supplying current to KT-88's. Personally, I find the GT KT-66's to be fine tubes. Not exactly GEC KT66's, but robust enough that I offer them in my JTM45 retrograde kit. George

2020年5月14日 · This amp is biased at 69% of 42 watts (29 watts per tube). Plate voltage at 65mA per tube is 450 volts. I think it’s the output transformer impedance that limits the output power to 110-112 watts clean RMS (42.5 volts on a 16 ohm dummy load) with the KT88’s. Although they chugged up there to a maximum of 57.6 volts (208 watts).

2010年7月14日 · A pair of KT88's will only put out 100W with an appropriate power supply. The one in the JTM45 can only give you 50 or so watts no matter what valves you put in.

2022年3月4日 · I've got a Dr Z Antidote, its a JTM45 style amp that runs KT66's (ultra linear OT) and I recently contacted DrZ customer support about putting a set of 6L6GC's in there but they replied that it can't run 6L6GC's but can take EL34 with proper bias changes.
