The JV-1000 is a 16-voice polyphonic synthesizer with a 61-key velocity-sensitive keyboard. It features a wide range of sounds, including acoustic instruments, drums, and synthesizers. It also has a built-in sequencer, arpeggiator, and effects processor.

The JV-1000 offers great possibilities of expansion by adding a V-EXP board, PCM and data cards. This synth also presents great MIDI capability, with two different outputs for the keyboard and the sequencer; all MIDI cc parameters are controllable via the assignable slider, the after touch parameter or the two pedals.

The JV-1000 is similar to the Roland JV-90 with a sequencer (akin to the MC-50 Mk II) and a floppy drive added. It also has a set of 8 control sliders for real-time parameter changes. It can be expanded with one SR-JV80 expansion board.
