John Uhler Lemmon III (February 8, 1925 – June 27, 2001) was an American actor and executive producer. Considered proficient in both dramatic and comic roles, he was known for his anxious, middle-class everyman screen persona in comedy-drama films. [2] .

He won the Best Actor Oscar for Save the Tiger (1973) and the Cannes Best Actor award for "Syndrome" and "Missing". He made his debut as a director with Kotch (1971) and in 1985 on Broadway in "Long Day's Journey into Night". In 1988 he received the Life Achievement Award of the American Film Institute. Avanti!

Jack Lemmon was an American actor, executive producer, and director. He collaborated with Billy Wilder and Walter Matthau on many films. In addition to acting in a number of films, he also directed the 1971 film Kotch .

Dr. Lemons is University Professor Emeritus in the Schools of Engineering, Medicine, and Dentistry. He has spent over 50 years mentoring and chairing more than 300 student theses and dissertations, leading to more than 600 publications.

A versatile and beloved performer, Jack Lemmon was a celebrated virtuoso in both comedy and drama. The only child of Mildred Lankford Noel and John Uhler Lemmon Jr., who was the president of a doughnut company, Lemmon had a fairly affluent upbringing.
