2015年12月5日 · I have been operating 4.0L engines for almost 30 years and have never installed a replacement thermostat with a bleed hole. If you remove the heater hose from the thermostat housing while you add coolant, the air will bleed out way better than it would with the tiny hole. No drilling required.

I offered to change a thermostat on my daughter friends jeep renegade with the tigershark, multi-air 2.4L whatever you want to call it. because I have changed many thermostats over the years and the $4-500 they were gonna charge her seemed ridiculous. well I regret that decision. has to be the most difficult thermostat to change.

2024年2月21日 · I changed the thermostat and it didn't help. One troubleshooting effort really helped me. Start the Jeep and let it run for a while. If you can monitor the temp through your user settings on the dashboard, great. If not just wait and watch the gauge. Feel the top hose, should be cool. At thermostat temp (my JK is 203) the hose should get warm.

2016年10月19日 · Next I removed the thermostat sensor from the air intake tube and removed the air intake. I put a jug (with top cut off) under the thermostat in the engine compartment and then removed the rubber hose using pliers. I then removed the 2 T30 torx bolts from the thermostat... don't forget to remove the o ring from the housing.

Afterward it was running slightly hot, but only about 212-215 so nothing terribly alarming. My girlfriend took the jeep the next day and it overheated on her way to work.

2023年1月27日 · Watched a Rainman Ray YT video yesterday for same code on a Jeep (non-Wrangler). When he got the new one (thermostat unit) and compared it to the one just removed (just the thermostats alone), there was a missing gasket on the old one at the base. Must've been ingested by the system was his theory.
