Continuing our tradition of measuring other people's tonearms, today we will have a closer look at a 9" version of a Jelco SA-750D. Although it's been discontinued, a very similar tonearm is still being sold as Jelco TS-550S .

It’s a well-made pick-up arm in the style of vintage Japanese Audio Technicas. Its chrome polish (gunmetal or black) is fantastic, and its bearings are fine and well aligned. It’s no surprise that in the 1970s and 1980s, Jelco was chosen to build the Sumiko MMT/FT series, Koetsu, and Audioquest PT tonearms.

...a long search is over - the Jelco SA-750D combined with the DENON DL-103SA, all set up for a total mass of 35gramms (arm+shell+cartridge+extra weight+fixture) blows my mind away - perfect! by BobP. 2024年2月8日 · Excellent TOTL Jelco SA-750D 9 inch tonearm in the desirable bronze finish. Not often for sale especially in this nice condition. Comes with the heavier counterweight which is preferred for some of the widely used LOMC cartridges such as the Denon DL-103 series.

2012年6月30日 · Presently, I am getting very good results with the Jelco and a Ortofon Kontrapunkt-B, and a Ortofon LH-6000 headshell. As far as I know the arm-tube on the SA-750D is internally foam damped. The only other point I would make is that the performance of the SA-750D can be improved by better headshells.
