The Jensen PW is a saloon car built by Jensen Motors from 1946 through 1952. The PW stood for Post-War, as the car was the first model built by Jensen after the Second World War. [1] A convertible model was also built alongside the hardtop saloon. [2] The first models utilized the Meadows 3,993 cc (4.0 L; 243.7 cu in) straight-eight engines.

Hand-built by men who had built the great Jensens of the pre-war era, the PW was normally made as a four-door saloon, although two convertibles were built. The last PWs were made in 1951 by which time Jensen was focusing on the design which replaced the PW, a much more sporting machine unveiled in prototype form in 1949.

And when we say rare, we really do mean rare. Of the 18 examples built by Jensen only four are believed to survive.

This particular example, LGX774, stands out as the only known fully roadworthy and road-legal survivor.

1948 Jensen PW – Jensen Owners Club Austin reportedly copied the PW design in producing its Sheerline saloon model and the ‘trade-off’ was a contract for Jensen to produce a drop-head, aluminium body for the Austin A40 chassis, known as the Austin A40 Sports. Austin later commissioned Jensen to build the bodies for Austin-Healey models.
