Jimmy Carter National Historic Site is located in Plains, Georgia, 10 miles west of Americus, Georgia on US 280. From Atlanta, GA – Take I-75 South to Exit 101 (Cordele). At the end of the exit ramp make a right turn onto US 280 West to Americus (approx. 30 miles). In Americus, 280 becomes a three lane one-way road.
