In our Vidyalaya, there are four junior houses, four senior houses and two houses for girls (of for classes VI to VIII and another from classes IX to XII). Therefore, these are eight houses for boys and two houses for girls.

At +2 level there are Science & Humanities streams. The students here have been divided in four houses-Aravali, Nilgiri, Shivalik & Udaigiri and are looked after by eight House Masters and two House Mistresses. The Vidyalaya has Scout & Guide, a Band group and also NCC.

Similar to other JNVs, JNV Doda also hosts four hostels. Both boys and girls have separate hostels but have the same names. Students are divided into four houses, whose names may vary by location but generally the names of houses are Aravali, Nilgiri, Shivalik and Udaigiri which are named after the mountain ranges in India.

The school campus covers around 119 Bhigas of forested hillside with its buildings connected by steep and windy paths and offering spectacular views at every turn. These buildings include the beautiful old Quad, the modern state of art infrastructure and the newly-refurbished student hostels and staff houses.
