2018年10月7日 · Like Trump I have small hands. On the guitar I've not had any issues with chord shapes and stretches. (Although I did notice my hands got stronger and my span increased after starting to learn the Goldberg Variations.) However bass guitar feels outsized to me. It doesn't feel all that comfortable.

2022年9月27日 · I don’t know if this is a stretching issue or just that I physically cannot. There’s a couple of options here: 1.John’s hands are absurdly large, 2. He uses quite thin necks 3. It’s all about this giant thumb that he has, so therefore in that case we’re talking about an averagely big hand but insanely long thumb.

I’ve got like tiny hands and I’m trying to play stop this train but my thumb physically cannot reach that far.

2020年5月23日 · My hands are not extremely small because I can wrap my thumb over the low E string, but the shapes for Neon are so stupidly complex that it is so hard for me to maneuver my hand to each form in time and my timing gets ruined.

Ed Sheeran is a pretty lazy songwriter and is SUPER stingy credits. I remember he made a specific point, in his Zane Lowe interview for Divide, of the fact that John Mayer was NOT featured on How Would You Feel because it was Ed’s song. When he’s playing live, you can tell he’s really grooving with the drummer+bass player because his right hand is so in the pocket (the one that mostly controls when the notes are hit).

2018年2月4日 · Don't believe people talking about big\small hands. It's just a matter of stretch and precision practice. Years ago I couldn't reach it and when I could I wasn't in-time with the song. Now I can stretch my average hands and be precise. Also you don't need to make it the same, work out what's best for you if don't feel like it
