The Ju 88P V1 was a modified Ju88A-4 equipped with a 75 mm KwK 39 armored-car cannon housed in a very large fairing beneath the fuselage. It could fire two rounds during each pass and was tested against a Russian T-34 tank and proved to be fairly successful.

2020年6月10日 · In 1942 a Ju 88A-4 airframe became the prototype, and was tested with a 75-mm (2.95-in) KwK 39 cannon mounted in a larger underbelly fairing. A small batch was ordered as the Ju 88P-1 with 75-mm (2.95-in) PaK 40 cannon, a 7.92-mm (0.31-in) MG 81 forward-firing machine-gun being used by the pilot for aiming the cannon.

The interest of the Wehrmacht command in the creation of an anti-tank aircraft capable of hitting the armor of KV-1 and T-34 tanks forced them to look for an opportunity to install a 75-mm VK 7.5 cannon on the Ju-88.

Unarguably the most versatile German warplane of World War 11, the Junkers Ju 88 remained in production right through the war in developed forms. It originated in a 1935 specification for a three-seat high-speed bomber to be capable of more than 298 mph (480 km/h).

The Ju 88C was originally intended as a fighter-bomber and heavy fighter by adding fixed, forward-firing guns to the nose while retaining some bomb carrying ability of the A-series bomber. The C-series had a solid metal nose, and retained the A-series style vertical tail, while omitting the ventral Bola gondola under the crew compartment.
