
Luwo people - Wikipedia
The Luwo are one of the smaller tribes of South Sudan with population about 171,000. By some accounts, the Luo are the eighth largest ethnic group in South Sudan. They may be found in Aweil , Wau and Tonj states or in Tonj and Western Bahr el Ghazal and Northern Bahr el Ghazal states by the pre-2015 organisation .

The Jur (Beli & Modo) people live in South Sudan. They are divided geographically into 2 distinct groups namely: Beli and Modo. The Jur Beli (also, Jurbiel and Beli) are an ethnic group living in South Sudan. The Beli area extends from Bahr Gel, north of Cueibet, to Wulu and then Billing. They are numbering 56.000 (Peoplegroups.org).

Mvolo is in the state of Western Equatoria and is home to the Jur people – a minority tribe in South Sudan. The Jur predominantly work as farmers, growing crops such as sorghum, peanuts, sesame, okra, pumpkin and sweet potatoes.
Many tribes in Bahr El Ghazal are accustomed to exchanging women for marriage purposes but amongst the Jur Tribes exchange of women is absolutely forbidden. They do not marry blood relatives and may marry anybody else> even a step-mother and a brother's wife. A Jur has to buy his wife at certain fixed rates normally 200 "Malodas" and 2 bulls.

Locals in South Sudan also refer to Luo Thurri tribe, as Jur-Shatt, Boodho or Jur-Chol. The Luo Thurri are found in South Sudan in areas between Wau and Aweil in Northern and Western Bhar El Ghazal. The Luo Thurri are also located between Jur and Lol rivers, on Raja Nyamlell road, and up to Wau-Deim Zubeir road.
