Guy John Fenton Knowles (1879–1959) was an engineer, an art collector and a benefactor of several museum collections. He was also a member of the expedition which made the first serious attempt to climb K2, the second-highest mountain in the World.

The first serious attempt to climb K2 was undertaken in 1902 by Oscar Eckenstein, Aleister Crowley, Jules Jacot-Guillarmod, Heinrich Pfannl, Victor Wessely, and Guy Knowles via the Northeast Ridge. Guy is the one on the bottom right with a tie and suspenders. Aleister Crowley (yes, that Aleister Crowley), is the one who needs a haircut. In 1905 Guy and the son of the French painter Legros designed a car named the Iris, which was first made in Willesden, London. It was made until 1915. Only one survives - but it's an absolute beauty.
