KCS bought four MP15DCs, Nos. 4363-4366 from EMD in August 1975, so this is half the fleet at the time. A fifth unit came from the Graysonia, Nashville & Ashdown purchase in 1998, becoming KCS No. 4367. EMD’s MP15DC is similar to the SW1500, but are 3 feet longer and rides on Blomberg trucks. This spur no longer exists today.

A Haywire MP15DC, still wearing battleship gray, hangs out on the Service Track at CPKC's Knoche Yard. The KCS only ever had a few these on their roster, and most, if not all, have been calling Knoche home for the past year. 7/23/23.

The EMD MP15, sometimes referenced as MP15DC, is a 1,500 hp (1,119 kW) diesel–electric road switcher locomotive model produced by General Motors ' Electro-Motive Division between 1974 and 1980. It was equipped with a V12 12-645E engine sporting a Roots blower.

The MP15DC is a versatile locomotive that is employed by both large and small railroads across North America in road freight and yard switching duties. It was also purchased by several non-railroad corporations for use in plant switching service.

Here is the roster as I have it now: CSX had several variations on their basic paint schemes with these units. Funny that the Kodak unit is probably the dullest of the lot. As for the sharpest? Why, the MKT. of course! You missed 4 MP15AC\'s Kennecott Copper units 905 and 120-122.
