The 105/3 is the first of KEF's Reference Series high-end line to use the new "coincident source," coaxial-style, mid-high frequency driver, which they have dubbed the "Uni-Q." Previously, only a lower cost line of KEF loudspeakers utilized this technology.

This is a tall boy type speaker system developed with the latest know-how while inheriting the genealogy of the long-selling Model 105. A TCC (Twin Coupled Cavity) system using two 20 cm cone type woofers is adopted to enhance the low-frequency reproduction capability.

The 105/3 is a floor-standing, four-way system that uses the Uni-Q 6-1/2-inch coaxial driver to reproduce all the frequencies above 350 Hz. The lower frequencies, up to 150 Hz, are generated by two 8-inch cone woofers in KEF's "coupled cavity" bass-loading system.

2023年5月31日 · I owned some KEF speakers in the 90's and I think speaker design has moved forward. I think they are fine but not competitive with better speakers today. That is not to say they are not decent, but you may need to deal with older surround, aging capacitors in the crossover.
