The bass/mid drive unit used in legacy LS3/5As and the current Falcon model is the KEF B110 version SP1003. Legacy 15 ohm versions of the LS3/5A made between the start of production and 1987 use the B110 version SP1003.

A cone type mid-range unit that uses a cone with the same structure as the B200. The diaphragm uses a cone made of special synthetic resin developed independently by KEF. The recommended enclosure is a sealed 5 - to 10-liter enclosure. * Only the last figures are listed in the 1979 catalog.

2023年10月10日 · In my rebuild of the KEF Concerto crossover with an aB circuit it turned out that the midrange (B110 SP1003) was a big problem. It sounded just horrible with the standard DN12 SP1004 crossover. The bad sound might mistakenly be taken as coming from the tweeter, but is from the midrange.

2020年5月11日 · Very rare and collectible New Old Stock (NOS) KEF B110A (SP1003). S/N 071498 & 071095 . Although these are best known for the OE market for the various BBC licensed producers of the LS3/5A, they were also used on other KEF house models as well.

Previously in use in a home-made pair of LS3/5a enclosures, these B110’s are in excellent condition (see close-up pictures) and full & perfect working order. They both measure around 6.4 ohms on our DC resistance meter - so a very well-matched pair. Most importantly you can see in the pictures that the solder-tags and rivets are all in good shape.

2014年3月31日 · More than 30 years ago I built a Daline transmission line speaker using the following drivers , KEF B110 woofer , KEF T15 mid and a COLES 4001g tweeter. A relative of mine was using it for the last 15 years or so and I have since gotten them back.
