2023年6月16日 · The Kef B200 was in loads of speakers around the 1980s, and there still seems to be a few about. Rubber surround so no foam to rot. So the question is "how good is it"? Is it worth using for a 2-way speaker project, either sealed or ported? Is it still competitive or are there better 8" drivers available these days?

2023年3月6日 · Which B200 is "best" will depend on your application, i.e., your intended enclosure. For example, the small magnet SP1014 was used in the compact infinite baffle KEF Chorale speakers, while the large magnet SP1039 was used in the larger ABR loaded KEF 104 and 104aB models.

Cone type woofer unit that adopts the same structure as B110. It has long been used for low-frequency reproduction in KEF medium and small speakers. The cone is made of Bexstrene treated with special rubber.

The KEF B200 comes in many versions, roughly lumped into classic small & large magnet versions and newer "triangular" front B200s (i have no info on these). The larger magnet versions also have larger voice coils & power-handling capability.

2023年12月14日 · The B200 starts to get cloudier and cloudier, ie less detail as they go up in frequency. Lower XO would be beneficial as you would be suppressing the worst of that. They will still have a “character” that you want to match with the companion.

2020年1月17日 · I just was looking at the different B200 spec sheets. The linear excursion Xd is similar on all of them but the SP1039 and SP1054 have much higher damage limit limits. 12mm vs 20mm. The SP1022 had the large magnet but the 12mm limit. We need somebody with a KEF Cadenza which uses the SP1022 to measure their surround.
