The C30 is meant to be used out in the room on a 25cm stand. The cabinet is larger and KEF have chosen to place this B200 unit's free air resonance at 45Hz. The crossover remains similar but the series capacitor is omitted.

C30 was broadly similar in size to the new C60 and Reference Model 103.2, and provided much of the performance of these more expensive stablemates in a simpler package. The C40 was generous in both volume and drive unit. Bass was plentiful and extended, and the design was balanced to operate clear of room boundaries on open stands.

2008年9月13日 · These are good speakers. A lot of detail in the highs and mids, they are also fairly efficient and can rock with 30 or more watts per channel. The C-series was a more affordable Kef speaker offered in the 80's at a lower price point than earlier Kef speakers. The cabinets were built more cheaply on the C-series to offer them at the lower price.

This is a super cool set of KEF speakers from the late 80s. The immediate successor to the famous Coda III, probably the most successful loudspeaker of its generation, the ‘flat’ balance of the Coda was retained, so this ‘large bookshelf’ speaker was best suited to open stand mounting.

2010年2月13日 · In the late 80's as a budding electronics apprentice at AWA (New Zealand) Limited [who were the distributors for KEF in those days] i bought a pair of new C30's. Not a bad speaker, quite reliable. Sound wise, warm and relatively slow. Not a speaker with snap or immediacy - but easy on the ear. Doesn't reach down terribly far in the bass department.
