Electrical engineering is a major that deals with topics related to energy, communications, electromagnetism, electronics, digital processing, and automatic control systems. Topics related to energy include energy production, transmission and distribution with high efficiency.

The English Language Department teaches more than 5000 of KFUPM’s undergraduate students per year. We help students, already quite proficient in English, sharpen their English academic writing skills. ELD faculty come from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Students in the course learn about the nature of applied research and the iterative process of research writing. The course teaches students how to work in a mentor-mentee relationship with a KFUPM faculty advisor, post graduate fellows, and graduate students.

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) was officially established by Royal Decree on 5 Jumada 1, 1383 (23 September, 1963). The first students were admitted a year later, on 23 September, 1964, when 67 young men enrolled in what was then named the College of Petroleum and Minerals (CPM).
