Jul 1, 2021 · So on a whim I went ahead and bought the Eibach springs from RMATV. But before installing them in the klx230 I was curious as to what spring rate the klx230 actually was. Doing some very unscientific measuring with Mrs. 76xtdrvr's bathroom scale, a yardstick, and a 24" long by 3/4" round wooden dowel I did some spring rate measuring.

Dec 3, 2019 · Forks have tabs for speedo magnet and some road legal stuff (shared with KLX230). I'm think about grinding those off. Need to find touch up paint. Waiting for the gold valves. If you go up even an inch on the bars, you'll need cables. KLX300 throttle cables work. Couldn't find a longer clutch cable. I used a torque reduction box to gain length.

Aug 14, 2021 · Pushing or floating is when the tire is turned slightly or a lot and instead of the tire biting into the dirt, it skids sideways just pushing straight forward, when you have the proper balance a bike with that short wheel base should carve corners really good.

Sep 12, 2022 · Getting off the drz and on the klx230 is like getting off a full size dual sport and onto a pit bike. Depending on rider height and riding style, this can be either an advantage or disadvantage. The 293 lb. klx230 seat height of 34.8" is about the same as the 304 lb. klx250. Despite the weight of the klx230, it can be flicked around easily.

May 6, 2021 · The KLX230R off road model runs 80/100-21 front and 100/100-18 rear knobbies. Some riders choose a wider rear tire supposedly for more traction, but the 100/100-18 stock rear will work fine for the KLX230, IMO. I also feel going to an extremely wider tire than stock negatively affects handling, both on and off road.
