Skjold-class corvettes (skjold means "shield" in Norwegian) are a class of six light, superfast, stealth missile corvettes in service with the Royal Norwegian Navy.

With a maximum speed of 60 knots (110 km/h), the Skjold-class corvettes were the fastest combat ships afloat at the time of their introduction. The Skjold-class vessels began with the development of the Royal Norwegian Navy's "Project SMP 6081", and the first preproduction version was ordered on 30 August 1996.

The ships were armed with an American 3 in (76.2 mm) gun forward and a Bofors 40 mm gun aft, with a Terne III anti-submarine rocket launcher ahead of the 40 mm gun. The ships were fitted with American SQS-36 sonar.

All in, the Skjold-class crafts develop a top speed of 60 knots with seastate 0 and 45 knots with seastate 3. The weapon package provided to these ships include an OTO Melara 76/62mm naval gun with stealth shield mounted on the fore deck and eight NSM anti-ship missiles. Mistral surface-to-air missiles are also planned.

Designed as a development of the Storm- and Snøgg-classes, by Lieutenant-commander (later Captain) Harald Henriksen, the 14 Hauk class vessels made up the Coastal Combat Flotilla, responsible for protecting the rugged coastline of Norway. The ships were modernized frequently and in their later form were known as "Super-Hauks."
