2011年4月7日 · I think the V8's handle the bass a lot better. Without a sub, the sound tends to sound midrangey and colored rather than flat and balanced. Honestly, I get way better balance and range from my Sony MDR-V500 headphones, which I use for mixing and patch adjustments.

I've had my KRK monitors for almost a decade and kind of disappointed with these in that when I mix anything or create presets, they do not translate very well.

2023年4月1日 · I have a similar experience with my KRK V8's. They sound amazing at volumes acceptable before 11pm but not as good as my old Event Audio 20/20's at "after 11pm volume". In this case both speakers are 8" one set is active (KRKs), one is passive (20/20s). The specs on the KRKs are far superior to the 20/20s.

2011年11月13日 · I've AB'd the new VXT8's against the original (USA made) V8s and the old ones are much better. (I still use a pair of old V8s for nearfield in our studio).

The two brands are Rockit 8 KRK and Mackie HR824...there's a $300 difference between the two (the Mackie being the more expensive of the two)...

2024年12月10日 · yeah, KRK Rokits aren't generally well regarded. i played through some at a friend's house and didn't like the treble on them. if you find yourself with some loose change at some point, i would consider upgrading. play through some genelecs or adams (i have the A7X)) and you'll figure out what's what. glad you're enjoying them though, you've made a big step up from your previous setup!

2025年3月6日 · However, at the moment I always have to boot my PC and change the routing of my audio interface to go directly to my monitors without software latency and this is a bit annoying. Since the KRK Rokit 5 aren't really super expencive monitors anyway (and my room is not really treated in terms of acoustics), I thought about getting a FRFR cab.
