Dec 21, 2016 · I already have an amp based on Alex Gendrano's KT88 SET design that used most of the power supply components from a organ chassis, and Edcor 15 watt OPTS. This sounds great and will take KT88, EL34, 6L6, 6550 etc. I want to build this one for KT120 specifically, with a switch that will allow me to also use KT150 when I get around to ordering them.

Sep 18, 2016 · Love the KT120's just doing what you did, dropping them into a KT88 amp. Very strong and tight on the bottom, and clean power all the way to the top. Also very competitively priced compared to most decent KT88's.

Jan 20, 2013 · Saturation voltage of the KT120 I have put in 60V based on the datasheets. That leads to a lower limit of Raa of about 3K5. If you go lower the PT will go into overload already at the max clean power. If you then analyse the situation at the KT120 you will find:

May 10, 2010 · A six-pack of 6L6/EL34 will make as much power as a couple KT120. Including air-space the 6-pack won't be much bigger than the two huge HOT bottles. If 1 of 6 tubes fails the show goes on; a half-dead 2-tube team gets very ill. And Saturday night in Podunk Valley, you probably can buy a replacement GT 6L6 or EL34, you won't be finding any KT120.
