2020年4月14日 · Curious if any gen4 owners have used kyb strut plus spring assemblies. I’m thinking of replacing my rears with part SR4469. I can’t find any reviews of these for gen 4’s. mainly wondering how they compare to stock ride comfort and height. I like that I don’t have to mess with a spring compressor since they come pre assembled.

2021年1月26日 · I bought KYB Strut Plus all around for my 2013 Outback Limited (2.5) at 134000 and 15k miles later, I can say, they still seem a bit stiff. Also, I've added a 20mm rear swaybar. I did that for towing cross country and have no intention of switching back.

2021年11月20日 · KYB Excel-G and Strut-Plus pre-assembled with springs are both said to be OE quality but in my experience they might not be quite there. They are fine, and I do recommend them if someone wants something to basically replace blown shocks and aren't really picky.

2021年11月23日 · Update - KYB struts-plus on all four in autumn, have about 11,00 miles on them including a 5100 mile loop on Route 66. Ride, stability and sound are still spot on. Mostly highway, I never go off-road intentionally, and have not a complaint.

2022年3月2日 · I ordered through the guys at PREracing in Portland, OR and they explained the differences in feel of OEM, KYB, and Bilstein as (in order of increasing stiffness) OEM --> KYB --> Bilstein. KYB is substantially cheaper than OEM with no sacrifice in quality. A few of the guys in the shop have KYB and a few have Bilstein.

2020年8月5日 · I got the following response a couple weeks ago from KYB: SR4491 and SR4492 are new part numbers scheduled for 2020 release. The release of select new part numbers has been significantly delayed due to the ongoing international pandemic. Manufacturing of components required to build the full strut assemblies is delayed.

2019年2月3日 · KYB is a decent aftermarket strut manufacturer and the GR-2 is marketed as a direct OE replacement. Nothing too exciting about their products and sub par with OEM most of the time. But Bilstein began making OE replacement B4 struts and that would be my first choice (front left 22-278586, front right 22-278593, and rear 19-278605).
