Same problem as this user Util-linux doesn't have utmpdump How am I supposed to read these log files ? when utmpdump, is not available. Using things like “who” or “strings” will not parse everything the right way, obviously. Why has this been removed? I hope someone can help me. Kind regards.

2024年12月11日 · this issue happen tome few times and mostly it happen after i do apt-get upgrade or apt-get dist-upgrade what the reason i dont know it freeze the system and become slow so i install kali again to get raid of the problem im using vmware workstation

2025年1月20日 · It is missing, not sure why. It still exists in 2024.1-live, not sure when it stopped working though. It’s not listed in the kali package tracker as a tool under util-linux. Looks like kali pulls it in from debian, so prolly something broken there.
