Kathleen Elizabeth Fell was born on January 11, 1921, in West London, England, to a railway clerk. Before making her film debut in 1938, she trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Marriage and Move to the US. In 1943, she married USAAF pilot Lieutenant John Daniel Bowen and moved to the United States.
