Which is the more stable enol form? - Chemistry Stack Exchange
2019年8月13日 · The 2,4-pentanedione enol form shown is the more stable enol, since the lone pair on the enol oxygen can delocalize across the five atoms to the electronegative carbonyl oxygen. Hydrogen bonding is also a minor factor in its favor. The enol form of cyclopent-2,3-en-1-one is indeed (also) a conjugated system, but the lone pair on the enol oxygen cannot delocalize to an electronegative atom ...
Enol or Keto form? - Chemistry Stack Exchange
2017年1月2日 · Which will be the major form among the two tautomeric forms? According to me, it should be enol form due to resonance stabilization as well has five membered ring formes througj hydrogen bonding. ...
Stability of keto-enol vs. conjugation - Chemistry Stack Exchange
The NMR spectrum seems to show that the tautomeric state of creatinine is that of the keto-form (bottom structure). If the ketone is the only functional group, the keto form is more stable than the enol form. One the other hand, if the carbon-carbon bond is part of a conjugated system, the enol form might be more stable (e.g. acetylacetone or phenol). You also suggest either the imino or …
How large is the energy difference between keto- and enol-form …
The nucleobases in DNA and RNA are generally present in the keto-form, and not in the enol-form. As an interesting historical note, James Watson and Francis Crick did initially believe them to adop...
organic chemistry - Which factors determine the keto:enol ratio for ...
2015年12月5日 · Which factors determine the keto:enol ratio for aldehydes, ketones, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds?
Why do only ketones exhibit keto-enol tautomerism?
2014年12月13日 · Esters, amides and acids do exhibit tautomerization to the enol form, but the enol content in these compounds is just much less than that found with aldehydes and ketones. Why?
Why is enol content higher in non-polar solvents?
2017年10月7日 · Apparently, for keto-enol tautomerism, the enol content of a given carbonyl compound increases when in a non-polar solvent. What is the reason for this?
Which compound will have the most stable enol form?
2020年4月5日 · Which compound will have the most stable enol form, Phloroglucinol or 4-Pyridone? My Thoughts: Both in their enol form are aromatic. I am not sure how do I compare their stabilities. The answer g...
organic chemistry - Phenol vs 4-hydroxypyridine - Enol Content ...
2020年8月7日 · Which has a higher enol content; phenol or 4-hydroxypyridine? The solution to this question in my book says that phenol has a higher enol content due to aromaticity. But 4-hydroxypyridine is also stabilized by resonance. So how does that affect enol content?
Which enol form is more stable? - Chemistry Stack Exchange
2021年1月23日 · Double bonds at the ends are usually unstable. Having already accounted for hyperconjugation this is such an unconvincing answer! It would be really helpful if someones can tell me the hierarchy of various stabilizing factors that make the enol more stable and how to determine which structure is more stable.
