The Israel Aircraft Industries Kfir (Hebrew: כְּפִיר, "Lion Cub") is an Israeli all-weather multirole combat aircraft based on the French Dassault Mirage 5, with Israeli avionics and an Israeli-built version of the General Electric J79 turbojet engine.

Introduced in Update "Winged Lions", the Kfir's weapons leave something to be desired, reflecting its real-life usage as a basic fighter-bomber. It can carry an impressive payload of bombs and rockets. Its best dogfight missile is the Python 3, which is one of the most agile missiles in-game, it's also extremely quick to accelerate.

The Kfir C.7, being the third and most advanced variant of the Kfir in IAF service, was designed to fit the aircraft's new role "underneath" the F-15 and F-16. It was built more robustly, and carried a stronger version of the J79 engine that could help it take off with a heavier payload.

The Kfir-C7 is the definitive single-seat version introduced in 1983. The Kfir-C7 is based on the Kfir-C2 with a specially adapted version of the J79-GEJ1E with 1,000 pounds more afterburning thrust. The type has two extra hard-points and several advanced features including the capability for the carriage and use of ‘smart’ weapons.

A multi-role fighter that entered service in 1976 and was a mainstay of the IAF for many years. The Kfir is one of the best examples of the 'evolutionary' approach to the development of fighters - an approach which has had impressive results in the history of modern military aviation.
