More thoughts on anti-theft, part of which is visually defeating the would be vermin from even breaking into the car by busting out the window and reaching in to unlock the door.

2014年8月22日 · Here in the midwest, there's been an ALARMING uptick in thefts of newer Kia vehicles. It's so bad that I am quite worried I may be next. MPD even put out a bulletin. I'm wondering what others have done with regard to an EFFECTIVE alarm/immobilizer system, or? In the short term, I've acquired (and religiously use) a heavy-duty steering wheel lock, but I don't think that's enough.

2023年5月10日 · Some Hyundai/Kia's with key starts don't have transponders hence all the Kia thefts here in the states on the cheaper models. The tester will let you know if the FOB is sending out signal and tell you the frequency.

2023年1月5日 · Thanks for your answer. I wish they stole my muffler, but they stole my catalytic converter. It seems like there are 2 catalytic converters: integrated in the exhaust manifold like you said, and right after the flex pipe section. Is your downstream sensor connected on the flex pipe section or on the catalytic converter (which is located at the rear of the flex pipe section)?

2024年10月31日 · My KIA appears to go into anti-theft mode when the doors are unlocked locked by any other method than the FOB. It must be part of the KIA anti-theft software update.
