From what I remember, Nomura has said in interviews that the realistic style of Quadratum is because it's a more realistic world, like the Pirates of the Caribbean world in KH3. The cartoony style will return for worlds where that will fit.

2020年8月8日 · This post isn't referring to graphics, it's referring to the general artsyle of Kingdom Hearts that's noticeable no matter what game, CGI movie, merchandise, etc. it is. The anime mixed with realism mixed with cartoons. Plus, if we are referring to graphics, we've had this artsyle in all the games' CGI openings and endings.
