2017年8月3日 · The Ktah Khas or KKA was one of the initial national counter-terrorism units for Afghanistan The KKA is also known as the Afghan Partnering Unit or APU. Reportedly, it was initially trained and funded by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

The Ktah Khas is a light infantry special operations battalion consisting of three companies, a reconnaissance unit, and several sections that enable and support the strike forces.

2023年10月22日 · The 1st Ktah Khas (Afghan Special Force), also initially referred to as the Afghan Partner Unit (APU), was a special operations/anti-terrorist unit that worked closely with Tier 1 units of the US Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). The 1st KKA received initial training from units of the US Army Ranger Regiment serving with Task Force 3-10.

2021年12月23日 · “Ktah Kas” is Dari Persian for “To Touch Success” [1]. In 2012, the Afghan Partner Unit adopted the Hyperstealth Ghostex Kilo-1 camouflage pattern for their uniforms. The cloth was printed in the United States and sent to Afghanistan for final assembly into uniforms [4].

The APU personnel were highly trained by NATO Special Operations Forces, to conduct high risk direct action/counter terrorism operations alongside coalition SOF forces. The APU/KKA personnel were considered the most elite forces of Afghanistan and were also the most trusted by their NATO counterparts.
