There are 1,048 stairs on the Koko Head trail, to be exact. However, unless you’re a giant, each stair will actually take several steps to climb because they’re so big and awkward.

What to expect: The Koko Head hike consists of climbing 1,048 steps to the top of the Koko Head Crater. While this hike will test your endurance, you will be rewarding with some of the best views of the island. You can see Aina Haina, Sandys Beach, and a large portion of the south shore.
