2024年10月20日 · The Kokoda Track is a single-file trail, which runs through the Owen Stanley Range in Papua New Guinea. The Track begins at Owers’ Corner in Central Province, which is 50 kilometers east of the capital, Port Moresby. The Kokoda Track finishes in the village of Kokoda, which is in the Oro Province.

The Kokoda Track is a long, thin track cut through the dense vegetation of Papua New Guinean rugged mountain terrain. Conditions on the Kokoda Track were appalling for both the Australian and Japanese soldiers in 1942.

The Kokoda Track or Trail is a single-file foot thoroughfare that runs 96 kilometres (60 mi) overland – 60 kilometres (37 mi) in a straight line – through the Owen Stanley Range in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Have a look for the original zig zag track cut along the way which wound its way down the ridge and up towards Imita Ridge. We start the Kokoda Track with a steep descent down to the Goldie River. The trail crosses the Goldie River and past the abandoned village of Uberi.

On your Kokoda expedition you will walk through many historically significant locations as part of the expedition itinerary. Your guide will point out these key locations and explain what happened during the World War II battles at the site and in the surrounding hills.
