Daewoo Precision Industries K2 assault rifle is the service rifle of the South Korean military. It was developed by the South Korean Agency for Defense Development and manufactured by SNT Motiv (formerly Daewoo Precision Industries) and Dasan Machineries (since 2016).

S&T Daewoo XK8, also known as DAR-21 (Daewoo Assault Rifle-21st Century), [1] is a 5.56×45mm NATO bullpup assault rifle developed and manufactured by S&T Daewoo intended to replace Daewoo Precision Industries K2 assault rifle for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.

It consists of two separate weapons combined into a single unit: a lower assault rifle chambered to fire 5.56×45mm NATO rounds and an upper 20×30mm (caliber of shell x length of propellent case) grenade launcher firing both conventional and air-bursting "smart" grenades, along with its integrated digital sighting unit. The 5.56mm K2 rifle (K2 소총) was adopted by the Army of the Republic of Korea in 1984. This rifle was in development since mid-1970s as a replacement for the M16A1 rifle, which was produced in South Korea under the American license.
