The KR-6160 can only be described as a powerhouse. At 65WPC, there were very few competitors that had more power in 1970. This thing has a sweet, tubelike tone, as did many of the early 70's receivers.

2022年2月1日 · For those who don't know, the KR-6160 is a 1971, 55 watt, cap-coupled receiver with an engraved face plate and triple tone controls. It's quirky looks endear it to some and repel others. I wasn't sure which camp I was in until I turned it on. This is the best amp or receiver I've heard bone stock.

2022年6月6日 · I recently acquired an early-1970s Kenwood KR-6160 stereo receiver when my brother-in-law cleared out my late mother-in-law's house prior to listing it. It powers up, tunes on the AM and FM bands, and sounds more than decent over headphones.

Mid-end receiver with FET-charged 4-gang tuner, separable pre/main sections, triple tone-controls, triple speaker terminals and dual MIC-mixing function. Not yet Karaoke, not yet a KR-9600 but plenty for the price - especially consdering one microphone was included in the price !

The owner is not an audiophile, but someone we've dealt with before and gurantees his stuff, so I said go ahead and get it.
