Photometry of a complete sample of faint galaxies. - ADS
Techniques are developed for the automatic measurement of the colors and magnitudes of a complete sample of very faint galaxies. The observations consist of photographic surface photometry in two wavebands for approximately 20,000 galaxies in two widely separated, high-latitude fields, each having an area of approximately 1080 sq arcmin.
Kron Aperture Photometry - California Institute of Technology
Kron (1980) claims that you capture most of the galaxy flux (>90%) if you use an aperture size twice the radius of the first image moment radius. Although not intuitive, he shows evidence that this aperture is applicable (re: robust) to different galaxy (morph) types, including spirals and …

PS1 Kron photometry of extended sources - PS1 Public Archive
2017年12月19日 · The Kron 1980 paper shows how to define a nominal magnitude for an extended object on the basis of the shape of the light profile. In the PanSTARRS implementation, the definition of the Kron radius and Kron magnitude is carried out as follows:
Photometry of a complete sample of faint galaxies.
We present the results of an unbiased search for Lyα emission from continuum-selected 5.6 < z < 8.7 galaxies. Our data set consists of 160 orbits of G102 slitless grism spectroscopy obtained with the… We present a 0.4–8 μm multi-wavelength photometric catalog in …

PS1 Detection table fields - PS1 Public Archive - MAST
2022年1月20日 · Description: Contains single epoch photometry of individual detections from a single exposure. The identifiers connecting the detection back to the original image and to the object association are provided. PSF, aperture, and Kron (1980) photometry are included, along with sky and detector coordinate positions.
kronrad : Kron Radius - R Package Documentation
2019年5月2日 · The Kron radius is defined as the first moment of the surface brightness light profile. Kron (1980) argued that apertures of multiple values of the Kron radius, Rk (typically, Rk = 2 or Rk = 2.5) would contain a sufficient amount of the total flux of the galaxy to be a useful measure of total flux.
Multiaperture UBVRIzJHK Photometry of Galaxies in the Coma …
For each object we present total Kron (1980) magnitudes and aperture photometry. As an example, we use these data to derive color-magnitude relations for Coma early-type galaxies, measure the intrinsic scatter of these relations and its dependence on galaxy mass, and address the issue of color gradients.
Asteroid Kron | Space Reference
Kron is a mid-sized asteroid orbiting between Mars and Jupiter in the main portion of the asteroid belt. NASA JPL has not classified Kron as potentially hazardous because its orbit does not bring it close to Earth. Kron orbits the sun every 1,570 days (4.30 years), coming as close as 2.35 AU and reaching as far as 2.94 AU from the sun.
