St. Louis radio station KWK lost its license to broadcast on AM 1380 in 1966 due to complaints leading the FCC to conclude the station had unfairly rigged a promotional contest. The station was then bought by a consortium of St. Louis and Detroit based owners.

KXFN (1380 AM) is a radio station in St. Louis, Missouri. It is owned by the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and airs a simulcast of station KFUO's daytime signal and nighttime live stream. The station has a colorful history as the Top 40 station KWK.

KWK was known as "Kwik-Soul 1380" in the early 70s and played an R&B format. This was the last incarnation of the original KWK before the owners pulled the plug after the big St. Louis flood in 1973 washed out the old KWK studios on Hall street.

Between appeals of the license revocation, the number of applicants for 1380 license, and WBEL's concerns, the former owners of KWK were allowed to continue broadcasting until the end of February, 1966.

2023年11月12日 · Looking for St. Louis radio history Am looking for a copy of the FCC History Card for the old KWK-AM (1380 kHz) in St. Louis, Missouri. Apparently, the FCC records prior to 1972 were eliminated due to the station losing its license. However, KWK resumed under new ownership five years later when the History Card also resumed.
