i have an sophos UTM with L2TP over IPsec VPN and IOS 14.0.1 (IPhone se2020) so i change the IPsec Policy in "Remote Access -> IPsec -> L2TP-over-IPsec (Policy used for L2TP-over-IPsec)"-> IPsec encryption algorithm: 3DES-> IPsec authentication algorithm: SHA2 256. Restart the L2TP over IPsec VPN with the switch and now it works

Dove in and upgraded two Macs today to beta 1. Unfortunately, it appears L2TP VPN is broken or something changed in the way it works. I can longer get a connection to any VPN concentrator I used previously. I tested with Cisco Anyconnect SSL VPN client and can connect to the same concentrators (as they're configured to accept L2TP or SSL clients).

This was working fine on my old MacBook pro using the built-in VPN client (L2TP over IPSec). On Monterey, I am still able to authenticate with the VPN server, and it shows that I am connected. However, when I try to access or even ping a resource that should be available via the VPN, it fails (Request timeout for a ping).

It appears that with the latest update to AC2 (v 2.12.1 (4A20)) that when you configure a VPN Payload for L2TP and selected "Shared Secret" for Machine Authentication, there is no longer a field to enter said Shared Secret.
