Only three classes of LBSCR locomotives remain: the Terriers, B1 class 214 Gladstone at and E1 110. 110 emerged from Brighton Works in 1877, was named Burgundy and was allocated to Brighton depot. Around 1892, Westinghouse air brakes were fitted and by the mid 1890’s, 110 was at Three Bridges.

No. 110, 'Burgundy', is the sole survivor of the E1 class of 0-6-0 tank which ran on the London Brighton & South Coast Railway. 'Burgundy' has been out of service since 1996, but until that time was a very useful and much-loved member of the East Somerset's loco fleet. It now requires a major boiler and motion overhaul to be returned to steam.

The E2 No. 110 Society's goal is to build a brand new E2 for running on Heritage Railways. We aim to recreate a long lost type of steam engine that worked for 50 years on British rails. These locomotives were designed by L.B.Billington in 1913, and the first was finished June 30, 1913.

2024年12月11日 · Locomotive No.110 (now preserved at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway) will now be available in Marsh-era goods black livery with double red lining suitable for between 1912 to the locomotive’s sale into industry in 1924. LBSCR E1 Class - SREmG
The LBSC was better than the other Southern Companies in keeping locomotive classes more or less in consecutive numbers, but they could issue these numbers somewhat randomly! Though not as bad as the "Terriers", the E1s were no exception.
