I do not believe the type/version of X509 certificate e.g. v3 certificate with EKU of Server Authentication has any baring on the SSL/TLS version the client and server negotiate as part of the SSL/TLS handshake. Is that correct?

The pre-req is to have one of the following version installed. I am guessing we will need to have the SQL browser patched on the front ends before disabling TLS 1.0 and 1.1? Is it supported to patch the front end SQL databases?
