2021年8月20日 · Wondering where I should point my camera to I followed an advice from Francesco Meschia to put LDN 998 into the frame. I did not find many promising reference images in the internet and hesitated a moment. But NINA showed some interesting dark nebulae in front of the milky way so I gave it green light.

2017年7月16日 · Cygnus Dark Nebulae Field LDN 998 - posted in Experienced Deep Sky Imaging: This field contains many objects, dominated by dark nebula LDN988 at center and several smaller dark nebulae. Two small reflection nebulae LBN408 and LBN409 are also near center. Two small Ha nebulae Sharpless SH2-120 and 121 are in the left upper quadrant.

From Virginia Beach , LDN 998 is visible in the dawn sky, rising at 22:46 (EDT) and reaching an altitude of 47° above the north-eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks at around 05:48.
