2022年9月12日 · LGB was an early adopter of DCC, although they gave their own "twist" to it and called it MTS, Multiple Train system, and historically it has had a number of limitations. But early LGB locos can be difficult to use with DCC, since some of the motor blocks have 3 wires instead of the 4 you need for any decoder installation. A little theory/basics:

An LGB® locomotive with an engraved "D" on the bottom side of the gearbox is suitable for DCC (MTS); the "D" marking indicates that the gearbox is a 4-pin gearbox with a motor that is electrically isolated from the track.

Some of today’s LGB engines are delivered with a so called MFX decoder, or better described as as dual-mode decoder MFX-DCC. MFX is a proprietary digital control by Maerklin with limited or no additional capability compared to the latest DCC standard.

2019年7月6日 · This option might suit you if you don't run much-higher-current-draw locos from US manufacturers, or large multiple-loco consists, or lots of trains at once. Any maker's DCC kit ought to work fine if it can cope with G scale's relatively high track voltage.

2023年6月25日 · LGB offered "DCC" early on, about the time it was being standardized. There were 2 precursors to our "modern" DCC, the Motorola system, and Selectrix system. Seletrix was developed by Doehler and Hass for Trix in early 80's. It was based on a communications protocol developed by Siemens. Trix had exclusive rights to the system.
