2019年11月11日 · I've only ever used BMW OEM Diesel Oil (Re-branded Castrol) LL-04 (Part# 83212365949) for every oil change. Never heard of LL-12 for my 2014 328d. It appears from my research the new LL-12 FE requirement is from MY 2016 and later.

The new oil part #83212365951 . it would also help if anyone that is running the new LL-12FE oil to come forward to confirm their experience.

BMW LL04 engine oil is a longlife engine oil required for petrol engine BMWs and diesel engine BMWs with soot filters (diesel particulate filters) from 2004 onwards, and which don't require a later, low viscosity BMW specification. LL04 engine oil can also be used on older BMWs in place of Longlife-01, Longlife-98 and BMW Spezial approval.

2014年11月1日 · I've been using the Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5w30 for my diesel which requires LL04 oil but I've finally run out of my stash. It seems there isn't much to pick from except from the dealer who sells the BMW branded oil. Is there any better? It seems I can't find any LL04 oil the local car parts shops so it looks like I'll have to order online.

2017年9月28日 · I've thought that LL04 spec oil was primarily for diesel BMW and not suitable for gas engine BMWs outside of Europe. But I'm seeing LL04 oil (Liqui Moly) being marketed by US online sites as appropriate for gas engine BMWs. LL04 is low SAPS, which cannot handle the high-sulfur content in US gasoline.
Is BMW LL-04 backward compatible to LL-01 & LL-98
2006年11月28日 · Basically any LL-04 oil is a low/mid SAPs oil. Such oils don't hold up for very long when subject to our fuels in the US. That is why BMW states that LL-04 oils should not be used in their gasoline engines outside of Europe. Hassam, you'll find a note regarding this on the BMW engine/oil spec matrix image that I posted for you in the other thread.
