Designed by Hill, the Great Eastern Railway's (GER) Class C72s (LNER J68) were the final development of Holden's original 0-6-0Ts of 1886. A total of three batches of ten locomotives each were built in 1912, 1913-14, and 1923.

The GER Class C72 was a class of thirty 0-6-0 T steam locomotives designed by A. J. Hill for the Great Eastern Railway. They passed to the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) at the 1923 grouping and received the LNER classification J68.

Accurascale have announced models of the J67, J68, and J69 for OO gauge (4mm scale). These are expected in 2023. Connoisseur, SE Finecast, and DJH all produce 4mm scale (OO gauge) kits of both the J67 and J69.

The C72s, although virtually identical, were classed separately as J68s. L56 is a LNER class J68 (GER class G75) 0-6-0T goods tank engine c.1923, with steam brake, lever reverse and 15-spoke cast iron wheels. L74 has Frame, Brake Gear and Wheel Details for them all.

This class of 30 locomotives was the final and most modern design of 0-6-0 tank loco built by the GER. Ten were fitted with condensing gear for working suburban passenger trains. Other members of the class worked throughout East Anglia and other parts of the LNER until 1961. KIT.
