The Hill Y4 (GER B74) 0-4-0 Shunters A.J.Hill built the first example of this class for the GER in 1913 for use at Canning Town to replace the smaller "209" ( Y5 ) saddle-tanks. This engine was particularly powerful for its size at the time.

LNER 0-4-0 'Y' Locomotives 0-4-0 Tender Locomotives. The 0-4-0 is associated with the earliest steam locomotives, but one of a pair built as late as 1868 on the North British Railway (NBR) survived to Grouping (1923). Many of the Y9 'Scottish Pugs' also ran with wooden trucks as coal tenders but these were classed as tank engines.
