The North Eastern Railway (NER) Class H, classified as Class Y7 by the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) is a class of 0-4-0 T steam locomotives designed for shunting. Introduced in 1888 by Thomas W. Worsdell, six were built in 1888. Their simple, bare design easily navigated the tight curves and poor quality track which they ran on.

LNER 0-4-0 'Y' Locomotives 0-4-0 Tender Locomotives. The 0-4-0 is associated with the earliest steam locomotives, but one of a pair built as late as 1868 on the North British Railway (NBR) survived to Grouping (1923). Many of the Y9 'Scottish Pugs' also ran with wooden trucks as coal tenders but these were classed as tank engines.
