2024年12月18日 · Almost surely this implies they will be normal ruleset servers not "Legendary" and not progression. Starting with a level cap of 150. With transfers allowed - not fresh start at all. Not a fresh economy either. So instead of converting the old servers to 64 bit as some had expected - brand new servers but existing characters can move to them.

While the caching technology should help with the character load on the new 64-bit servers, the technology does not forgive some of the older designs of instances that tax the server (48min).

Landroval is the "Roleplay encouraged" server; it doesn't have the strict rules of the old "roleplay / in character required" servers, but it's got a good percentage of people who are LOTR fans with lore-appropriate names and want to feel immersed in the setting.

I was on Sirannon once when something happened to their European ISP and suddenly all the European players vanished and the server population dropped to something like FIVE. All of us were Americans. Knowing we can transfer off - or not as we choose - there is no longer a compelling reason to put a moratorium on store purchases for a month.
