When encountering a stopped school bus, motorists should slow down, pay attention and watch for students walking or running across the street. LPS has created a video to show on cable channel 21, the LPS website, social media sites and other places, stressing the importance of student safety in or near school buses.

The Lincoln Public Schools is continuously accepting applications for school bus drivers and transportation paraeducators. Regular routes are available as well as substitute positions. Route hours are typically 6:30 to 9:30 a.m., and/or 2:30 to 4:30 p.m, with a potential for working mid-day. For bus drivers, an excellent driving record is required.

The primary purpose of Lawton Public Schools Transportation Department is transporting eligible students to and from home. Therefore, students are expected to ride their assigned bus each day to and from school and get on and off at their assigned bus stop.

The School Boundary/Bus Route Locator Tool is used to provide boundary and bus route information for in-district families to their neighborhood schools. Please note: LPS provides transportation to some programs such as Options MS, Options High, and Phoenix, which is why they are included in this tool.

District buses transport students to and from school, extracurricular events, and sporting events, including after hours and on weekends. Lexington Public Schools has currently contracted with C&W Transportation for the safe and timely transport of our students to and from school each day. Collaboration between the transportation company, schools, Central Office and parents/families helps to ensure a safe, enjoyable ride to and from school for all students.
